On October 16, 2025, the Pennsylvania Independent Regulatory Review Commission (IRRC) reviewed and approved the Rule Making updating 34 Pa. Code, Part XIV, Chapters 401 and 403 (Pennsylvania UCC). The effect of this action is the update of the Uniform Construction Code of Pennsylvania, including the move to the 2020 NEC & 2021 International Codes as amended.
EFFECTIVE JUNE 1, 2026, ALL PERMIT APPLICATIONS AND PLANS SHALL COMPLY WITH THE 2020 NEC & 2021 EDITION OF THE CODE, AS AMENDED.
